Harvest Gold Reports Longstreet
Drilling Results
February 23, 2006
Harvest Gold Corporation, (HVG - TSX.V), February 23, 2006 (the "Company")
announces that it has received the results and interpretation of the recent
drill program completed on its Longstreet Mine property. The Longstreet
Gold-Silver Mine Project is located 55 km (30 miles) NE of Tonopah, in Nye
County, Nevada. The Company has an option to acquire a 100% interest in the
property.
The November, 2005 program consisted of 7 holes and a total of 1150 meters of
drilling. The target of the program was to test the down dip extension of the
higher grade gold-silver mineralization associated with the Adit Fault vein.
These included Hole PR-17 which contains 5 feet (1.52m) averaging 0.616 oz/ton
(19.16 g/t) gold equivalent (GE) using a 60/1 silver to gold ratio. To the west,
hole PR-18 contains 5 feet (1.52m) @ 0.282 oz/ton (8.77) GE and PR-22 on the
same section contains 10 feet (3.05m) @ 0.227 oz/ton (7.06 g/t) GE. These
results prompted the test of the underground potential, down dip.
Anomalous silver and/or gold values were intercepted in the drill holes where
the vein was expected but no economic metal values were returned in drill sample
assays and further drilling down dip of the deposit is not warranted at this
time.
Significant assays include PR-29, 410-415 feet (125.0 – 126.5m), 0.012 oz/ton
(0.37 g/t) Au and 0.28 oz/ton (8.71 g/t) Ag. Significant silver intercepts
include the following: PR-25, 435-450 feet (132.6- 137.0m), 0.63 oz/ton (19.6 g/t)
Ag, PR-25, 495-505 feet (150.9-153.9m), 0.73 oz/ton Ag, PR-27, 335-340 feet
(102.1-103.6m) 0.52 oz/ton (16.17 g/t) Ag, PR-31, 460-470 feet (109.7-112.8m),
0.86 oz/ton (26.75 g/t) Ag.
The Company will now explore several options available to advance the project
including seeking permitting to begin the drilling of the remaining 6
mineralized zones as yet untested by the Company and pursuing a strategic
partnership with the goal of achieving gold-silver production from the
Longstreet deposit.
The Longstreet Mine property hosts 7 separate gold-silver targets. Four of the
prospective zones including the Longstreet Main Zone are heap-leach, open-pit
targets with sulphide mineralization potential at depth. The remaining three
zones are deeper, "bonanza" style high-grade gold-silver targets.
Drill results and technical data have been reviewed by Dr George Gale, P.Eng,
who is the supervising geologist and Qualified Person pursuant to NI-43-101.
