Harvest Gold Corporation (HVG – TSX.V) May 30, 2006 (the “Company”)
reports that
Glen Hawk Minerals Ltd. (GHM – TSX.V) is undertaking due diligence on
the
Company’s Garcia Flats properties for the purpose of developing an
option
agreement with Harvest Gold to earn an interest in these properties.
Garcia
Flats consists of 198 unpatented claims covering 16 square kilometres
(3,960
acres) and is located at the southern extension of the Carlin trend in
Elko
County, Nevada.
The Garcia Flats claims cover gold and pathfinder element anomalies
occurring
under shallow cover along the projected extension of the Roberts
Mountain
thrust. Greg Hill, lead geologist for Harvest Gold, designed an
extensive soil
program in 2005 with the aim of identifying a district size gold target
on the
south Carlin trend in Nevada. The Carlin trend is recognized as one of
the main
producing gold districts in the world. Glen Hawk will be conducting its
due
diligence on the property and meeting with Harvest Gold management over
the next
month and hopes to conclude an agreement before the end of June, 2006.
Harvest Gold is currently conducting a detailed soil geochemistry survey
of the
Garcia Flats claims. The results of the survey will be combined with
gravity and
other geophysical survey data to identify drill targets. Approximately
1150 soil
samples are planned with a sample site spacing of 100 m by 100 m. The
large
number of soil samples is required to develop quality drill targets at a
property as large as Garcia Flats. Ore bodies at Carlin-type mines can
be as
narrow as 100-200 m, and some have maximum dimensions of only 200-400 m.
This
systematic soil sampling approach, combined with geophysics, will
provide an
excellent screening process to identify the best drill targets.
