Harvest Gold Expands Garcia Flats, South Carlin Trend Property

04/05/2006

Harvest Gold Corporation (HVG – TSX.V) April 5, 2006 (the “Company”) has expanded its initial land position at Garcia Flats, Nevada, announced March 30, 2006, from 72 claims to 139 claims. In addition, a second block of 47 claims located to the South East of the original claims has also been staked. The Garcia Flats project now includes 198 unpatented mining claims covering 16 square kilometers (3,960 acres).  The properties are located at the southern extension of the Carlin Trend in Elko County, Nevada.

The additional claims staked by the company cover all the remaining gold and pathfinder anomalies identified in the regional soil geochemical survey of the area conducted by Greg Hill, M.Sc in 2005. Mr. Hill has 15 years experience with exploration geochemistry and mineral exploration in the US, Canada, Mexico and in Central and South America. He has worked for major and junior mining companies and the USGS. He has participated in hundreds of modern soil surveys including orientation surveys over Carlin-type deposits. Mr. Hill will be the lead geologist on this project for Harvest Gold.

Garcia Flats was acquired by the company after its geologists studied the positive results of Mr. Hill’s regional soil geochemical survey. It utilized broadly spaced (500 meters) sample sites over geological features generally associated with Carlin Trend gold deposits. The program was designed to identify a new district size gold target on the south Carlin Trend in Elko County, Nevada.

The land is structurally complex, situated along a major northwest-trending fault zone that extends towards the Bald Mountain district to the southeast. The Roberts Mountains thrust projects under shallow cover that contains anomalous soil geochemistry gold values with significant responses in pathfinder elements: arsenic, antimony and other metals.

The lower plate rocks of the Webb/Devils Gate contact occurs to the north of the property throughout the Pinon range where it is mineralized in many places and acts as the main ore host at the Rain gold deposit 40 km north of the property. This contact is believed to be present beneath the Garcia Flats claim blocks. Eocene age volcanic rocks also exist on the property, indicating local igneous activity, around the time of gold mineralization on the Carlin Trend.

Regarding two of its central Manitoba, Canada properties, Harvest Gold Corp has informed Strider Resources Ltd of Cranberry Portage, Manitoba that it will not be proceeding with the exploration of the Wood and the Row/Lass claim blocks and that both properties have been dropped by the company.
